The HE Guardian has come up with this great infographic detailing the research they did on the challenges facing HE today. The changes in the sector section indicated that most people think things are getting worse and that the coalition government has no coherent set of policies to see HE through this turbulent time.... but
Most people think that increasing marketisation of HE will not improve quality or student experience and they do not support the current reforms around tuition fees.
But most people still enjoy their jobs and do not want to look for work elsewhere, although a lot have thought about leaving.
These results are expected but hopefully this will add some weight to the ongoing discussions around the role of HE in the current climate.
Do you still feel valued in your job? have you thought about leaving? what makes you want to stay or leave academia?
